Under the guidance of Emergency Financial Assistance Director, Mary Ann Kawall, volunteers Levonne Branston and Sharon Krengel have started a new program at MORE called Information and Referral (I & R). With these two eager volunteers and a lap top, people are now able to get assistance with food stamps, employment opportunities, energy assistance programs, applications, resumes and much more. Although most people know how to use computers, they often do not have access to computers or do not know how to go about getting the assistance they need. Our goal is to provide the helping hand to attaining the needed assistance. Sharon and Levonne will work directly with individuals to assure they get all the help needed. This is an evolving program and I have high hopes for its success.

With the snowfalls coming to an end this year, Marengo resident Frank Severtsen will be parking his plow for good. Frank has faithfully given us his donation of time and service in cleaning our parking lot since we opened in 2007. Sometimes plowing two times in one day has been necessary to assure safety to our guests and volunteers. Thank you, Frank for your dedication to MORE and your community.
