Our summer fundraiser events have been established. We start off with our Annual Blackstone Golf outing scheduled for Tuesday, June 4. This fundraiser is set for a noon shotgun start. For more information contact Sandy Butenschoen at 815-382-1815. This event has proven to be a fun time, a good way to maintain friendships and it’s all for a great cause. Lunch will be provided. Our other fundraiser is the annual Fay’s Barbeque Chicken and Pork Chop Dinner. Friday, July 12, at the MCHS cafeteria is the day you can enjoy the great taste of Fay’s and possibly win $1000 in our raffle. Tickets for the raffle are $20 or 3 for $50.

We welcome Mary Noe to our Board of Directors. Mary is a long time resident of Union and is known throughout the community from her days as a guidance counselor at MCHS. She brings to us her wealth of experience, positive attitude and determination. All of us on the Board are delighted that Mary has chosen to “share” some of her retirement time with us. Our Board of Directors also includes: Pat Adams, Chris Angelo, Chris and Bob Botts, Sandy Butenschoen, Dr. Tom Dujmovich, Norenne Dunker, Tim Emerson, Ron Ham, Mary Ann Kawall, Janice Perkins, Charlie Petrauskis, Sue Regas and Danille Tegtman.

This is a reminder that Saturday, May 11, is the annual Post Office food drive. If you are able, please donate by setting your non-perishable food out by your mail box. Also, you may sign up to care for a garden plot at the MORE center. This year plots are limited so please register early. Thanks.
