Monsters Ball for M.O.R.E.

The Marengo-Union Times is teaming up with local organizations and businesses to host an epic event that will directly benefit M.O.R.E. food pantry. The Monsters Ball will be a Halloween costume party with music, dancing, food and drinks, prizes, and more.

M.O.R.E. (Marengo area OutReach Enterprises) is a first responder for Marengo and Union area individuals and families in need of assistance. They offer supplemental food, emergency financial assistance, clothing and household items, and advice for seeking additional help.

The party will be held from 7 p.m. to midnight at Glo-Bowl Fun Center, 101 Franks Rd. in Marengo. There will be no cover charge, however, donations to M.O.R.E Food Pantry

Glo-Bowl and Trio Grille’s unique lighting and sound systems will create the perfect atmosphere for the event. Additionally, the party rooms, multiple bars, and experienced staff can accommodate a large event, keeping the traffic flowing without bottlenecks.

“We are honored to be hosting this event for such a wonderful cause,” said Christina Reyna, Glo-Ball Fun Center General Manager. “We can't wait to show everyone a great time.”

Glo-Bowl Fun Center will also be donating 10% of all bowling sales for the entire day, from 11 a.m. until midnight, to M.O.R.E.

Cathy Hyngstrom of Marengo is organizing the party planning. Cathy, who has hosted Halloween costume parties annually in Doral Ridge, was the first person the Marengo-Union Times thought of when the event planning started.

“Autumn has always been my favorite time of the year, and Halloween one of my favorite holidays,” said Hyngstrom. “Kids love trick or treating and grown-ups get to feel like kids again. This year, I'm happy to be able to do what I love and more importantly do it for a great cause.”

“Cathy’s passion for Halloween and creativity made her the natural choice for planning this party,” said Blais.

Music for the event will be provided by Simply Mobile D.J., a Marengo entertainment business owned by Chris Davis.
