Once again, the Boy Scouts of Marengo had a successful “Scouting for Food” community drive on March 2. More than 8300 pounds of food and personal items were collected and sorted for us. Thanks to all the Scouts and their moms and dads for taking a couple of Saturday mornings to organize and pull this off. We also thank Diane Phillips for being the organizer for the past three years.

Golfers—save Tuesday, June 4, for the annual Blackstone Golf fundraiser for MORE. This fundraiser is set for a noon shotgun start. For more information contact Sandy Butenschoen at 815-382-1815. This event has proven to be a fun time, a good way to maintain friendships and it’s all for a great cause. Lunch will be provided.

The M.O.R.E. Center depends on the community to support it in every way. Aside from donations of food, clothing and money, we also depend on volunteers. If you want to volunteer your services, you can download an application from our web site, www.marengomorecenter.org and send it to us. At last count, we had more than 135 volunteers belonging to our happy family.
